A bus from Bilbao to Ávila and back is enough for a lot, even to create a duo. On that trip with the Bilbao Choral Society to perform the “Misa Criolla” and “Navidad Nuestra”, works with music by Ariel Ramírez that explore Argentine folklore, the idea of starting this musical project arose.

Although Patricia Inchaustegui has always listened to music from the South American country in her home, this would be her first approach to performing it. But thanks to her training at the conservatory and her artistic sensitivity, anyone would say that she has been singing zambas and chacareras all her life.

For his part, Andrés Mariano Conte-Grand, an Argentinian percussionist, landed in Barajas a few years ago with his traditional bombo legüero, ready to remain faithful to his musical roots despite the thousands of kilometres that distance him from his origins.

No me encontrado performs emblematic songs such as Alfonsina y el mar, Chacarera del expediente or El humahuaqueño, accompanying the singing with the traditional bombo legüero and the violin as well as with instruments from outside the style such as the vibraphone or the marimba, seeking to approach roots music from an innovative and personal point of view without losing the intrinsic essence of the style. For this they rely on some of the authors who have already done previous work in fusing this music with the harmonic colours of jazz, such as Gustavo Leguizamón, Raúl Carnota, Jorge Fandermole and Juan Quintero, essential guides in this artistic experience.
