Born in the Canary Islands and adopted by Ceuta, Carmela Ríos holds a degree in Information Sciences from the San Pablo CEU University in Madrid. Passionate about journalism in all its forms, she worked for twenty years in television news, ten of them in Paris. One day, a Twitter account crossed her path and turned her idea of communication upside down. Since 2009, she has been immersed in social media, exploring its opportunities for journalism and analyzing its risks. She writes about it in El País and trains other journalists.
Optimistic and a professional at enjoying life, she loves open-water swimming, a sport she practices in Euskadi, her sentimental homeland.
