Carlos Valcárcel is a lecturer at the University of Vigo and a specialist in applied linguistics. He works mainly in the Faculty of Education at the Pontevedra campus, where he teaches second and foreign language didactics. In recent years, Valcárcel has been involved in a wide range of projects, from automatic text generation to promoting collaborative work in cooperation with Latin America, as well as the creation of multilingual electronic dictionaries. Since May 2021, he has been running a popular language channel on TikTok where he speaks in Interlingua, an auxiliary language developed by linguists in the first half of the 20th century.
