Social worker, focused on working with the marginalized. I’ve worked for more than 20 years with people infected with HIV/AIDS, people with addictions, people working in prostitution, people in jail, and the homeless. My approach to social intervention developed after I had found myself needing their help. I approached the Alava’s Anti-AIDS Citizen Commission. This organization helped me learn and work in the trenches of different assistance centers for people at risk of extreme exclusion. In 2000, I became the Commission’s President. I represent some Basque NGOs in the fields of addictions at the Basque Council for Social Services; I am a member of the Advisor Council for Addictions of the Basque Government; I have helped set up the Basque Federation of Anti-AIDS Association Euskalsida; I am the National Coordinator for AIDS CESIDA and the Basque Federation of Associations in the field of prostitution Gu Gaitun; I am Vice-president of the Basque Net for Fighting Poverty EAPN; I am a member of the prison local council; and I am President of the Social Council of the municipality of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

In 2015, I decided to quit as manager of the Commission, but not as a social activist, and today I’m rebranding myself professionally. In the meantime, I tend vineyards in La Rioja.
